Why MIHOFIT Is Built This Way

Every detail has a purpose. Discover the thoughtful design behind MIHOFIT.

1. Why Can Just 10 Minutes Feel So Intense?

MIHOFIT’s elliptical climbing stride combines up to 11.8 inches of vertical travel with 13.8 inches of forward movement, creating a climbing-style motion that can quickly raise your heart rate and make even a short workout feel more intense.

Add the Flex-Bar to bring upper-body resistance into the movement, combining cardio and strength in one full-body session.

Keep the pace slow for a lighter workout, or move faster and add resistance when you want more intensity—all from one compact machine at home.

Sweat levels, workout intensity, calorie burn, and results vary by individual.

2. Why We Designed It Under 40 Inches?

Many everyday home furnishings are designed to fit naturally within the flow of a room, and we believe fitness equipment should do the same.

That’s why MIHOFIT was intentionally kept under 40 inches long—compact enough to fit into everyday living spaces without disrupting walkways or making the room feel like a dedicated home gym. At just 39.3 inches long, MIHOFIT is designed to fit into your home, not take it over.

Product length: 39.3 in (998 mm), with a manufacturing tolerance of ±0.2 in (±5 mm).

3. Why Motion Path Matters More Than Stride Length?

Stride length is only one part of how an elliptical feels. What really shapes the experience is the full motion path—the combination of forward travel, vertical rise, pedal angle, and how smoothly those movements flow together.

That’s why two ellipticals with similar stride lengths can still feel completely different underfoot. At MIHOFIT, we focus on the entire geometry of the stride, carefully balancing crank design, linkage length, swing-arm dimensions, and pedal position to create movement that feels smooth, natural, and comfortable.

Because a great stride isn’t just about how far your feet move—it’s about how naturally they move.

4. Why We Designed Multiple Stride Zones?

By shifting your foot position forward or back on the pedals, you naturally change the shape and intensity of the stride—without mechanically adjusting the machine.

This allows one MIHOFIT to support different users, fitness levels, and workout goals, from lighter, more comfortable movement to a more demanding full-body session.

The same user can also change foot position throughout a workout to move between different intensity levels, whether it’s gentle movement after a meal, steady morning cardio, or a short, higher-intensity sweat session. One machine, multiple ways to move—simply by changing where you stand.

5. Why the Pedal Moves Into a Negative Angle at the Bottom of the Stride?

As the pedals move through each rotation, the angle naturally changes with your leg position. Near the top of the stride, the pedal sits at roughly 25–30°, where the knee is more flexed. At the bottom, MIHOFIT transitions the pedal to approximately –5°, allowing the leg to extend more naturally instead of remaining bent throughout the entire rotation.

This subtle negative angle creates a smoother transition through the bottom of the stride and introduces a gentle stretch through the back of the leg, helping the movement feel more open, fluid, and natural.

It’s a small detail in the geometry of the stride, but one that can make a noticeable difference in how the motion feels underfoot.

6. Why the Pedals Tilt Inward by 3°?

The pedals are designed with a subtle 3° inward tilt to better match the way the legs naturally align when standing on the machine.

Because the frame sits between your feet, your legs angle slightly outward rather than dropping perfectly straight down. A flat pedal can create a small mismatch between that leg angle and the surface under your foot, adding unnecessary lateral stress through the ankle.

By tilting the pedals inward by 3°, MIHOFIT helps bring the foot surface into more natural alignment with the leg, creating a more balanced contact point and a smoother, more comfortable stride over time.

7. Why We Use an Eccentric Pivot Design?

MIHOFIT uses an eccentric pivot structure to create cleaner, safer movement around the swing arm.

As the machine moves, this geometry helps prevent the pedal tube and swing arm from closing into a scissor-like angle, reducing potential pinch points around moving parts. It’s a small structural detail, but an important one—especially in homes with children or pets, where open mechanical gaps can create added risk.

By designing the motion path more intentionally, MIHOFIT helps make everyday home workouts feel not only smoother, but more considered for real living spaces.

8. Why It Works for a Wide Range of Heights?

MIHOFIT’s elliptical climbing stride is designed around a compact 13.8 in forward travel with approximately 7.9–11.8 in of vertical movement, creating a step-like motion that feels natural across a wide range of body heights.

Rather than relying on an extra-long stride, the climbing geometry lets shorter users move comfortably without overreaching, while taller users can still achieve a smooth, full-range workout without compromising the training feel.

That’s why MIHOFIT is designed to accommodate users starting at around 3'11" (120 cm). Because when it comes to fit, a longer stride isn’t always better—the right motion path matters more than stride length alone.

9. Why Ellipticals Work So Well at Home?

When you compare the four most common cardio machines—treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, and rowers—across factors like noise, full-body engagement, footprint, and joint impact, ellipticals offer a particularly balanced fit for the home.

Like a treadmill, an elliptical keeps you upright and can engage both the upper and lower body, but your feet stay supported on the pedals and move along a guided path, creating a lower-impact experience with less pounding underfoot.

Ellipticals also tend to operate more quietly and can require less floor length than many treadmills or rowers, making them easier to integrate into everyday living spaces. For home fitness, it’s the combination of full-body movement, lower impact, quieter operation, and a more space-friendly footprint that makes the elliptical such a natural fit.
